Dr. Balthaser is a general dentist with extensive training in restorative dentistry, implantology, oral surgery and endodontics, which enables him to do most dental procedures in the comfort of his own practice.
“I like being involved with minor surgeries. I have the ability to perform minor surgical procedures 14 or 15 times a day, much more than a general or orthopedic surgeon. That said, though, you’re working on someone who 95 percent of the time is awake and alert — so it’s definitely a challenge to get the procedure done in a timely manner.”
“A lot of patients aren’t used to having the ability to be part of decision-making regarding their treatment. I communicate with patients through technology to help them play a role in that process.”
“Dealing with insurance — getting the necessary paperwork and putting in the time to provide patients with the treatment they deserve, as well as the coverage information they need to choose the option they can afford.”
Dr. Balthaser has known his wife, Melissa, since they were 14 years old. The couple have four sons,
ages 10, 8, 7 and 4.
