Dr. Gibson’s general excellence showed itself even during her career’s earliest days. Shortly after graduating from dental school, she was named dental director of David Raines Community Health Centers in Louisiana, where she managed seven community dental-health programs and offered comprehensive care to the underserved. Today, Dr. G (as her patients affectionately call her) treats each patient with warmth and tenderness. “I’ve never treated a stranger,” she says.
