Voted Rhode Island’s top orthodontist by his industry peers, Dr. Beagan is equal parts teacher and doctor at his three practices.
Previously a behavioral therapist who worked with children, he now employs those skills in his education-heavy approach to treating patients.
He recently purchased an iTero scanner for Invis-align, which he deems much easier for patients than uncomfortable oral impressions. “It can be used with any orthodontic appliance,” he says. “You just scan it, and it goes right to the lab.”
When Dr. Beagan and his now-wife, Tammy, were strolling together in Boston one night a year before he started dental school, a drunk driver jumped the curb, injuring Tammy and ultimately causing her to lose a leg. Helping her through grueling physical therapy, he says, redoubled his commitment to his dental studies: “It focused me.”
