The ongoing exploits of 40 Under 40 honorees from years past.
CLASS OF 2024
Dr. Monique Belin
Inverness, South Daytona and Altamonte Springs, Florida
Dr. Belin has had a busy year: She was honored with the 2025 Florida Dental Association New Dental Leader Award, presented to a dentist within 10 years of graduation who has made outstanding contributions to his or her community, organized dentistry and the profession overall. She also received the 2025 University of Florida Gator100 Award, which recognizes the 100 fastest-growing alumni-owned businesses worldwide—her Inverness Endodontics ranked No. 38. Dr. Belin received the award accompanied by her sister and office manager, Chanel Stanley.
Dr. Divya Mudumba
Pittsfield and Palmer, Massachusetts
BusinessWest, western Massachusetts’ most respected source for business news and analysis, named Dr. Mudumba to its own 40 Under 40 as judged by a panel of prominent local leaders. The online publication launched its 40 Under 40 in 2007 to honor young professionals not only for their business achievements but their service to the community. It lauded Dr. Mudumba for her breast cancer research-and-treatment fundraising efforts, her numerous speaking appearances at local schools and her in-progress collaboration between the YWCA and Smiles for Success Foundation to increase access to care for women who are victims of dental neglect and trauma.
Dr. Nikita McDaniel
Blue Springs, Missouri
Here’s a joyful update: “I was five weeks pregnant when we did my [40 Under 40] photo shoot last year,” Dr. McDaniel says. She has since welcomed a baby girl and now has her hands full with two little ones—her son turns 3 soon. She also recently celebrated three years of practice ownership. Congratulations!
Dr. Nicole Rivera Vargas
Aldie, Virginia
Dr. Rivera reached out not only to offer a professional update but also a message of mentorship and reflection. In the year since we honored her, she has continued to grow her startup practice, Aldie Dental Care, by taking a proactive approach to self-care: not as indulgence, but as a foundation for sustainability and leadership. “As women, we are often wired to pour into others—our families, careers and communities—sometimes at the cost of ourselves,” she writes. “But something shifts around 40. There’s a quiet, powerful reckoning. We begin to see that taking care of ourselves isn’t selfish—it’s survival. It’s sustainability.” Her sentiments are a reminder to younger dentists that growth isn’t always loud, and that honoring your well-being is an important act of professional strength.
CLASS OF 2023
Drs. Cyrus Aghdam and Neelab Anwar
San Diego
One of our favorite dental power couples is expecting a baby girl this fall. That’s in addition to their ever-growing work family at their practice, Happier Smiles Orthodontics. Follow them on TikTok—as we do—at @happiersmilesortho.
Dr. Sara Mahmood
Frisco, Hurst, Allen and Arlington, Texas
Typical of 40 Under 40 honorees, Dr. Mahmood isn’t resting on her laurels. She recently earned her Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, putting her among less than 2 percent of U.S. dentists to have done so. She’s shown on page 88 at the ceremony with her daughter, Laila. At press time, Dr. Mahmood, founder and owner of Texas-based brush365, was set to open her fourth practice location in Arlington, joining offices in Allen, Frisco and Hurst.
CLASS OF 2021
Dr. Amanda Sheehan
Waterford, Michigan
Firsts are common among our 40 Under 40 alumni, and Dr. Sheehan became the first (and so far only) female dentist in Michigan to earn board certification from the American Board of Oral Implantology (ABOI). Mentorship is another 40 Under 40 calling card, and Dr. Sheehan serves as a faculty member at the Resnik Implant Institute, helping dentists advance their surgical skills. In addition, she recently received a Fellowship from the American Academy of Clear Aligners (AACA). This past summer, she traveled to Amsterdam with her family, where her 5-year-old son deepened his passion for human science at the Bodies Museum.
CLASS OF 2020
Dr. Sodabeh Etminan
Chicago
Another first for a 40 Under 40: Dr. Etminan (photo No. 6, third from right) became the first dentist ever selected for the Obama Foundation Leaders Program, which supports community leaders across various industries who are driving lasting and inclusive change and who have at least three years of demonstrated impact. (She is the senior director of oral health at the University of Illinois Mile Square Health Center.) “I just finished my year of leadership and advocacy training, and it was a wonderful experience,” she tells us. “I learned so much over the past year, and the network has been very collaborative—we’ve been able to bring the lessons learned back to our everyday work.”
CLASS OF 2019
Dr. Kadambari (Kady) Rawal
Boston
Moving up and giving back: Dr. Rawal has been featured several times in Incisal Edge in addition to her 40 Under 40 appearance, and no wonder. This year alone, she was awarded the coveted American Dental Education Association’s Dr. Jeanne C. Sinkford Faculty Leadership Award and elected to serve as president of Smiles for Success, the nonprofit arm of the American Association of Women Dentists that offers cost-free dental care to female graduates of accredited job readiness and placement programs. She was also elected to represent District 1 (encompassing Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont) at the American Dental Association’s Council for Advocacy on Access and Prevention, which is charged with furthering oral health literacy, disease prevention and intervention, access to care and community advocacy.
Drs. Samantha Rawdin and Rebecca Koenigsberg
New York, New York
This is the third appearance in Incisal Edge for this duo, who recently built a new and improved home for Gallery 57 Dental, the Manhattan practice they share with their fathers. “We took a lot of time planning the flow of the office to appeal to busy New Yorkers who value high quality in a comfortable and efficient setting,” Dr. Rawdin says. The 7,000-square-foot space is packed with tech and features an in-house laboratory. We profiled the dads-and-daughters team at their prior location back in 2020, a year after the latter were 40 Under 40 honorees. In the meantime, they’ve also been featured in New York magazine, Better Homes & Gardens and on Sirius XM’s Doctor Radio
Dr. Andrea Smith
Wyomissing, Pennsylvania
Time flies: “I was five months pregnant at my 40 under 40 photo shoot,” Dr. Smith remembers. Well, Jack is now 5 years old, and Dr. Smith has since welcomed daughter Quinn, who is 3. Congratulations, Dr. S!
