Why He Was Nominated

Dr. Yi completed his pediatric-dentistry residency at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard School of Dental Medicine. The rigorous training the program entailed has made him one of the country’s top young dentists. (He manages his practices with Dr. Jenna Winokur.)

Inspiration

His parents. “They gave up everything they had in South Korea and moved to America  for the education of my sister and me,” Dr. Yi says. “That was more than enough reason for me to work hard in school.”

Something People Don't Know

Dr. Yi has a third-degree black belt in tae kwon do from childhood, though he now remembers only the basics. He also sings, which he finds useful in pediatric dentistry.
