Dr. Kotchounian was born in Montreal and grew up in Los Angeles. After dental school, she started her career by completing a general-practice hospital residency in the Bronx, New York. There, she began to under- stand the crucial connection between oral health and that of the rest of the body. She currently serves as the ethics chair of the San Fernando Valley Dental Society and, as a student, was on the board of the USC School of Dentistry Ethics Committee. She practices in tandem with Dr. Sako Karakozian.
