Why She Was Nominated:

Dr. Rasamimari met her best friend and business partner, Tiya Ungphakorn (see page 70), as residents at New York University. They opened their practice together amid the pandemic, offering pediatric dentistry and orthodontics in Queens, New York. A Thai immigrant, Dr. Rasamimari moved to the U.S. when she was 6. She and Dr. Ungphakorn bring specialized care to their young patients with scanning, 3D printing and advanced pain management.

Inspiration:

“My father. He’s a neonatologist, and not only did he get a degree in the U.S. but did so in Thailand as well. Seeing how hard he’s worked to provide for our family has motivated me, and that passion to help kids definitely got passed on.”

Biggest Challenge:

“The transition from student to working professional. School and residency prepared me for work, but balancing my personal and professional life was more difficult than I expected.”
