In that role, she educates other dentists about new materials, as well as giving lectures at continuing-education classes and conferences. “It gives me excellent current information to bring back to my practice,” she says.

Something People Don't Know

Dr. Bunek initially intended to become an accountant. She got as far as two full years of undergraduate calculus, economics and accounting courses before deciding she wanted a career that featured more personal interaction and one that would bring out her artistic side. She’s grateful she changed course: “I would have been miserable behind a desk crunching numbers.”
