While in dental school, Dr. Winokur also received her master’s in public health, then did her residency at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Winokur (who manages her practices with Dr. Young Yi) now treats underserved and special-needs populations. “The population we see is unlike a lot of the populations that most people see,” she says, “and it takes special training and a special person to be able to see those types of children.”
Her father, who is also a pediatric dentist; indeed, Dr. Winokur and her father now work together. She has worked at his office her entire life: When she was just 7 years old, she would watch him work and help him clean exam rooms.
