Why He Was Nominated:

Just three years into owning his first practice, Dr. Swiatowicz started a second, this one dedi­cated to sleep-related breathing disorders. He was the first dentist in Delaware to have a practice specifically focused on airway health. He is a passionate advocate for LQBTQ+ issues and has dedicated copious time and services to a variety of public-health measures across the state.

Post-Pandemic Plans:

“I’ve enjoyed returning to in-person continuing education. It’s so much better teaching a course to a room full of people instead of a bunch of tiny boxes on a screen. On a personal level, my husband and I are continuing our surrogacy journey to grow our family. We have made our embryos—two girls!—and are ready to take the next step with our gestational carrier.”

Something People Don’t Know:

“I have the autographs of three of the four Golden Girls. Estelle Getty’s estate wrote me a nice note saying that she was no longer able to sign autographs because of her declining health. However, they did say ‘Thank you for being a friend.’ ”
