Benco Dental is (among many other things) a supply business, sure—but frequently what Benco associates are supplying is their time and goodwill. Here’s a sample of some of their recent deeds.
SPEND TIME around associates from Benco Dental, the publisher of Incisal Edge, and you’ll pick up on the notion that giving back isn’t a one-off, one-time campaign: It’s more of a reflex.
Some efforts are highly organized. Others happen because someone sees a need and decides to meet it. The scale varies, but the intent never does. Over time, those moments—in 2025, Benco associates logged 8,087 volunteer hours, or the equivalent of 202 workweeks—accumulate into full vans, stocked shelves, funded research and supported families. The company’s culture recognizes that dentistry doesn’t exist in isolation from the communities it serves.
Yes, much of it begins close to home. That’s what happens when your headquarters sits in a tight-knit corner of northeast Pennsylvania. But the impact doesn’t stay local. It travels—carried by Benco associates, partners and customers—into communities far beyond. Here’s what that looks like in action.

VAN WITH A PLAN: Amid the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting, territory representative Michele Geno (right) stepped into the Advocate Mobile Dental Van to support delivery of services to underserved communities throughout the greater Chicago area.

EDIBLE ASSISTANCE: During Benco Founders Week in September 2025, more than 60 company associates volunteered at the CEO Weinberg Food Bank in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, packing 1,742 food boxes containing more than 52,000 pounds of goods for northeast Pennsylvania families in need.

LOCAL WARMING: From company headquarters in Pittston, Pennsylvania, Benco associates organized a gloves-and-socks drive benefiting Ruth’s Place, a women’s shelter in Wilkes-Barre. Benco’s Alice Morris (right) delivered the winter essentials along with a $933 associate-raised contribution matched by the Benco Family Foundation.

ACTS OF MERCY: Ohio Valley territory representative Angie Hines (left) and retired Ohio Valley TR Jim Stoyanoff volunteered at Mission of Mercy in Pittsburgh, supporting treatment for more than 2,000 patients while managing central supply and helping assemble some 2,000-plus bags of food for distribution.

SWEET SUPER BOWL TREATS: Associates at Benco Dental’s home office in Pittston, Pennsylvania, raised $561 during a Super Bowl bake sale in February, with funds matched by the Benco Family Foundation and donated to the American Cancer Society in honor of Benco Chairman Larry Cohen’s ninetieth birthday.

AISLES OF SMILES: The Fort Wayne, Indiana, Distribution Center marked World Smile Day this past October 3 by participating in a community give-back for the benefit of Matthew 25 Health and Care, a nonprofit that provides free and low-cost medical, dental and vision services, as well as food assistance, to underserved individuals in northeast Indiana.

AIR APPARENT: Benco multimedia designer Melissa Diltz (left) brought her balloon artistry to the Wyoming Valley Mall in Wilkes-Barre Township, Pennsylvania, volunteering her time to construct a large-scale installation for a community event. Diltz regularly contributes her creative vision to both public spaces and company-wide celebrations.

ADDED BOOST: Benco’s Booster Committee raised $932 through the sale of candy apples and mums, a total matched by the Benco Family Foundation. On World Smile Day, associates, including executive assistant Debby Wargo (left) and senior repairs experience specialist Lori Liparula, filled bags with personal care products, nonperishable food and other essentials.

FULL STEAM AHEAD: Benco designers partnered with the Salvadori Center’s STEAM program at Benco headquarters, guiding K-12 students through a hands-on exploration of architecture, engineering and design. Dental designers Nicholas Cicci and Mark Costigan, interior designers Amy Hnat and Amanda Griffith and drafter Tyler Coletti volunteered their time.
