Dental lifestyle magazine announces its 6th annual design competition winners

Annually, Incisal Edge, the leading lifestyle magazine for dental professionals, offers an opportunity for national recognition in outstanding practice design. The magazine’s team canvasses doctors, architects, designers, and students for nominations across four categories, then turns it all over to the blue-ribbon panel of judges. This year’s competition took place from August 20 through November 28.

Award-winning dental practices for 2019 include:

  • New Construction

Urnise Dentistry, Glenwood Springs, Colorado, owned by Dr. Karen Urnise

  • Specialty Practice

CoMAX Colorado Maxillofacial & Oral Surgeons, Colorado Springs, Colorado, owned by Rebecca Facy DDS, MD

  • Repurposed Practice

Bunek Dental Studio, Ann Arbor, Michigan, owned by Dr. Sabiha Bunek

  • Design of the Future

RiNo Dental, created by Alexis Wilson, Hagerstown, Maryland

 

Three existing dental practices receive a Herman Miller Ergonomic Starter Bundle valued at $2945.00, a professional photo session for their practice, and a framed display of their winning entry as featured in in Incisal Edge dental lifestyle magazine’s spring issue. Design of the Future category winner receives a $2,000 monetary award. All winners will be profiled in the Incisal Edge spring issue.

The competition’s juried panel from the dental and architectural worlds included: Tristan Hamilton, DDS, M. ARCH.; Joyce Bassett, DDS, FAACD, FAGD, and Phyllis Marshall-Rice, LEED AP, EDAC.
